It was the spring of 2007 when, facing the tragic loss of one of the links in their chain, twin sister Katrina and two lifelong friends decided to honor Christy by holding a remembrance luncheon, vowing that Christy would always be remembered and to celebrate her love of shoes.

Christy's passion for helping people was the inspiration behind the decision to support women by collaborating with nonprofits. In Christy's Shoes, which began in Columbus, Ohio, and then stepped into other states in their quest to focus on the spirit of Christy and giving back.

From 2016 through 2024, In Christy's Shoes hosted annual Sole Celebrations, individual Sole Soirees and other fundraising events to provide awareness and funds for programs that support women on their journeys of personal growth. These programs supported women experiencing homelessness, unemployment, domestic abuse, substance abuse, human trafficking, and brain cancer.
